Fans of MCM here in Indy are so fortunate to have Baz, the maestro of AtomicIndy blog to organize and implement all sorts of Atomic socializing. One benefit to these get togethers is meeting others who share the love of all things mid century and who live right here in Indianapolis and surrounding areas.
I met Jami at my first Atomic Crash Party. She lives in her very own atomic home and I was thrilled to recently see how crafty Jami is. She shared photos and steps of how she handily crafted a Girard inspired tree topper for her mod tree.

2. blow image up 200% and cut around the outside of the body only (not wings)
3. trace around outside of the body onto plywood
4. cut with saw (i used a small handsaw and it wasn’t fun because i had a dull blade)
4. draw clothes and face onto plywood. (if one is not good at drawing they can probably use a projector or something.)

6. glue feathers onto back
7. Optional: cover base of feathers on back by glueing small thin pieces of veneer wood and paint when dry
