as i said VERY cool, now would you use thicker acrylic next time?

  2. Susan says:

Very clever. What kind of weight could it bear?

This was the first go round. It will hold a potted plant, not a person. Next time, I’d design it for more stability. It’s really fun to cut and glue acrylic to make things. I just wish I could bend it.

I can’t buy thicker acrylic from the hardware stores. I’d have to special order it. And, Yes! I’d use a thicker piece next time. Oh yeah, there’ll be a next time!

Great looking project. How much weight will the table bear?

  6. shellyleer says:

    Hey Nicole,
This design is fairly light weight. If I was to do it again for a real side table, I’d give the sides more support. I am going back to Meyer Plastics for an acrylic bending demo. Can’t wait.

Not a lot of weight, but with some adjustments, I could make it very strong.
