Easy Elegant Outdoor Solar Lamp

As some of you may know, I write weekly (or so) DIY projects for HOUZZ.com. It’s a maker’s dream come true–doing what I do anyway, and getting paid for it, plus having those projects featured on this behemoth of a widely read interior design website.

Yesterday, my outdoor solar table lamp tutorial was featured. What I love about this is that it wasn’t made out of any old lamp, although it could be. I spied this girly pink acrylic lamp on the crowded lamp shelf at my local Goodwill Store. Goodwill and pink acrylic just made this thing fabulous. Need a good excuse to go-a-hunting at Goodwill or any other thrift shop? This is what we call a no-brainer, y’all. Talk about budget friendly!! Go see what you can find and remember to get the lamp shades that have the socket mount down towards the bottom edge of the shade. Weddings, dinner parties, any outdoor entertaining can be UN-electrified and chic to boot!
Go see that full tutorial and more photos on HOUZZ.com.

Great modification. Another way to recycle, convert and modernize antique electric table lamps.
